Documents for departure and arrival
Which papers does your move need?
De Bresser draws up your inventory list and numbers every item and box. The list shows the contents of each box, and you receive your own copy. For the exemption application, Curaçao Customs also asks for the value of the goods and a signature. You supply those details, as well as the contents of any personal boxes you pack yourself.
The application also requires, among other things, passport copies with the required admission stamp, proof of deregistration from your previous country of residence, and a Kranshi population register extract or a work permit. The application and import declaration must be complete. De Bresser handles all customs formalities and goes through the official Curaçao Customs document list (in Dutch) with you. Keep needed originals out of moving boxes. Dutch nationals usually need a Declaration of Automatic Admission, other nationalities a residence permit. Our Dutch-language emigration guide is for Dutch nationals.
Curaçao is not part of the EU customs territory. Your household goods leaving the Netherlands therefore also need an export declaration and an inventory list, as Dutch Customs explains (in Dutch). We handle the formalities for the Dutch export and the import into Curaçao, and agree when your personal details and documents need to be complete.
